Terms of Service

OurStreet (“we”, “us”, “our”) is a hyperlocal community platform for Ireland, accessible at ourstreet.ie. By creating an account or using OurStreet, you agree to these Terms of Service and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the service.

• You must be at least 16 years old to create an account.
• You must provide accurate information, including a valid Eircode for neighbourhood assignment.
• You may hold only one account, tied to where you live.
• You are responsible for keeping your password secure and for all activity under your account.

OurStreet exists to bring real neighbours together. When posting notices, comments, or messages, you agree not to:

• Post content that is unlawful, hateful, harassing, threatening, defamatory, or discriminatory.
• Impersonate another person or misrepresent your location or identity.
• Post spam, advertising, or repetitive promotional content not relevant to your neighbourhood.
• Share another person's private information without their consent.
• Attempt to circumvent verification, moderation, or kill-switch controls.
• Use the service to break any applicable Irish or EU law.

You retain ownership of the content you post. By posting, you grant OurStreet a non-exclusive licence to display that content to other members of your neighbourhood as part of operating the service.

You are solely responsible for what you post. We may remove content, hide posts that are flagged by the community, or suspend accounts that breach these terms, at our discretion and without notice where necessary to protect the community.

OurStreet uses neighbourhood-level verification (Member, Community Verified, Verified Resident). Verification is provided in good faith to build trust between neighbours; it is not a guarantee of any person's identity or conduct. You should exercise your own judgement when interacting with other members.

We may suspend or terminate your account if you breach these terms, if your conduct harms the community, or where required by law. You may delete your account at any time in Settings; see our Privacy Policy for how your data is handled on deletion.

OurStreet is provided “as is” and “as available”. We do not warrant that the service will be uninterrupted or error-free, and we are not responsible for the conduct of other members or for interactions arising between neighbours through the platform.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, OurStreet will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential loss arising from your use of the service. Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot be excluded under Irish law.

We may update these terms from time to time. When we make material changes we will update the “Last updated” date above. Continued use of OurStreet after a change constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.

These terms are governed by the laws of Ireland, and any disputes are subject to the jurisdiction of the Irish courts.
